AEW President Tony Khan said in a conference call ahead of Sunday’s show that he had considered the idea of making one of AEW’s pay-per-view shows a two-night event in the future. Compare that to what WWE and New Japan have done with WrestleMania and Wrestle Kingdom in recent years.

“WWE had an interesting style to be honest, I don’t think it’s something anyone in AEW has enjoyed but me, but I see that it’s not only commercially profitable but there are a lot of superstars in AEW and honestly, there are too. They thought they had enough people.” To do two nights of the show. And now Wrestle Kingdom has two nights. We’ve never done anything like that, but you all told me I try to pack a lot into four hours plus in pay per show. There are so many people out there, it’s hard to do,” Khan said.
