We’re only a few weeks away from San Diego Comic-Con, the annual event that usually celebrates what’s in the cards of the geek world. The agreement has often been a showcase of what the future holds for DC Comics on the page and on screen, and based on plans by Warner Bros. Discovery recently announced it for its 2022 event, which will definitely be in the cards in some way. This will include an exclusive conference portfolio with artwork drawn by DC Chief of Staff and Publisher Jim Lee, highlighting some of DC’s heroes in film, television and video games. The art bag, which you can check out below, happens to feature the titular characters from the future bat girl And the blue ladybug Movies, offering a fresh look at Leslie Grace’s Barbara Gordon/Batgirl and Xolo Maridueña Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle in superhero costumes.
While Batgirl and Blue Beetle aren’t currently ready to cross over in movies yet, Grace previously revealed that she hooked up with Maridwina after she was cast in the role.
Grace explained to diverse. “I was like, ‘Oh, man, I wish I could do this. Am I in the club? “I almost felt the whole time I had Impostor Syndrome. You want to earn your place. But now that you mentioned it, I’m going to go into some DMs and ask ‘Hey, what’s your experience?’”
“I got in touch with Sasha Calle, who is the super girl SparkleGrace continued. I hope we meet soon because we are part of the new generation. I got in touch with Xolo Maridueña, the blue beetle. It’s freaking awesome. I’m very happy for him.”
bat girl Expect to see JK Simmons reprising his role as Commissioner James Gordon, Michael Keaton reprising the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman, Ivory Aquino as Alicia Yeoh, Jacob Scipio, Rebecca Front, Corey Johnson, and Ethan Kay in currently unknown roles. Meanwhile, Blue Beetle will also include Susan Sarandon as Victoria Cord, Bruna Marquezine as Penny, Bellissa Escobedo, Jorge Lopez, Adriana Barrazza, Elipedia Carrillo and Damien Alcazar as members of the Jaime family, and Harvey Gillen in a currently unknown role.
