Glastonbury Festival 2022 this weekend welcomed an array of iconic works. Not only did Paul McCartney top the festival, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Harry Styles performed for thousands of people at Worthy Farm.
Ideas have now turned to the Glastonbury Festival 2023 lineup. Although nothing has been announced yet, One Direction has better odds than ever to play the popular weekend.
One Direction went on a hiatus in 2015 before officially breaking up in 2016. Since then, rumors have been circulating about their inevitable reunion.
The former member, Liam Payne, in particular, has been very vocal about the possibility of a band reunion. Recently, he was asked about returning to the set, and his answer was very confident.
“I don’t know, I definitely think it’s going to happen!” he told reporters.
With the band members constantly talking about getting back together, bookmakers in Ladbrokes have played down the odds of playing 1D on Glasto next year. Reunion may not be so far-fetched.
The Ladbrokes gave One Direction incredible odds 3/1 on playing Glastonbury 2023. This would be the first time the band played the historic festival.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes commented: “The prospects of Harry Styles and his teammates getting back together at Worthy Farm next year are only one way, and it’s great news for fans desperate to see the boys return.”
This may come as a huge surprise to 1D fans, as the band has previously said they will “never” play Glastonbury. In fact, Niall was adamant that they couldn’t.
In 2015, Niall was asked if the former X-Factor group would play Glasto in the future. He replied: “We are not good enough to play at Glastonbury.”

The Ladbrokes gave slim 5/1 odds at One Direction on this year’s reunion – but things are looking forward to 2023.
The bookmakers have given a promising 6/4 chances on a 1D comeback together in 2023. Alex Abate of Ladbrokes said, “The 2022 meeting seems unlikely, but Directions won’t have to wait long to see the band together if the last odds are not. Anything. going through.”
It is easy to see why these possibilities are so promising. Last year, Liam slyly commented on the band’s state of mind.
He said, “I spoke to Lewis a few days ago and we were just saying… [a reunion] It should happen sooner rather than later! “
Liam later doubled down, saying, “This is the only update I’ve made to that.”
However, there are some outliers in the future of One Direction. One of them is the band’s biggest star, Harry Styles.
Styles has exploded in popularity over the past few years. His third album, Harry’s House, was recently released and hit #1 in many countries, including UK, USA, Australia, Germany, Ireland and many more.
Also, his Hollywood career might be standing in the way of his future in 1D. On top of touring the world as a solo artist, he’s also working hard on his acting future – having already been in the Marvel movie, Eternals, as well as the war saga Dunkirk.
Given that he has two movies coming out this year – don’t worry Baby and Cop – will Harry have time to get back with One Direction?
Time will tell. But either way, he’ll probably be in Glastonbury regardless, whether he’s alone or with a 1D.
