The Boys Showrunner wants the fan-favourite to return

If there is one thing you need to know boys, is that the series remains close to the source material from which it derives – even if those moments push the TV-MA rating as far as possible. We look at you Herogasm. If Eric Kripke gets his way, he’ll also bring back one of comedian’s most iconic characters.

That’s right, the showrunner behind the series is hoping to bring Jamie the Supe-Hamster back.

Kripke said in an interview with TVLine. “And if I can figure out a way to transport hamsters from Russia to the United States, I would like to have this character [back]. “

Jimmy appears earlier in the season when the group of the same name raids a Russian laboratory in search of a boy soldier (Jensen Ackles). In the comics, Jimmy’s assets are more R-rated and include another body cavity. Eventually, Hughie takes the animal home as a pet.

“It’s actually somewhat present in the books,” Kripke said in his book. Separate interview earlier this month. “He’s a strong supporting character. So when we were breaking the story in the Russian lab [for the show] A lot of scary Compound V tests on Soldier Boy, [we thought,] What other tests would they have done? And he adds, “It made sense that there would be a hamster there, and we all said at once, ‘Oh my God! It could be Jimmy. We can finally get Jimmy!”

The writer told us earlier this year that the broadcaster never told him or his writer’s room “no” about any content issues, meaning it was likely the writer’s choice not to adapt Jimmy’s exact comic origin.

“Prime Video didn’t literally say no,” the writer said at the time. “But having said that, I think the writers do an incredible amount of restraint, believe it or not.”

“We really get hurt about where the line is, because we never want to cross the line from outrageous to complimenting or exploitative, cheap or appalling for shock,” Kripke added. “There’s an incredible amount of anxiety, hand squeezing, second guessing and second guessing about where it should be, because I really think what we’ve come to realize is that no one’s really going to tell us, so we have to understand that the more I can take those banana moments , but make it personal, and to the extent that you can’t tell the character’s story without it. That’s often the best we’ve got, so we aspire to the who-that.”

The first six episodes of boys Season 3 is now streaming on Prime Video. New episodes scheduled for release every Friday.
