EFT update 0.12.12.30 (June 29) Patch notes and maintenance time today

Escape From Tarkov (EFT) servers will be out of reach for at least 5 hours from the time of writing this article, and when the new update (0.12.12.30) is published today, your progress will be erased.

The long-awaited patch for Escape From Tarkov arrives today. Adding several gameplay changes and visual improvements, with update 0.12.12.30 you’ll get an extended Lighthouse experience, complete new daily Scav-Play missions, battle three new bosses, and improve frame rate thanks to AMD FSR support. However, this is not all.

Battlestate games bring a new offline co-op mode to the game, allowing you to play regular raids with bots in co-op mode, while the number of co-op companions has been increased. This mode will only be available to those who have purchased the Edge of Darkness version of Escape From Tarkov.

Moreover, you will now discover new in-game action animations, which makes the game more realistic when it comes to the visuals.

In terms of gameplay, developers have added some new slots for PMC soldiers, where they can store some new items like compass, wi-fi camera or other items.

EFT Update 0.12.12.30 Patch Notes

New additions:

  1. Lighthouse location expansion – Added ability to visit the island where the lighthouse is located, and new interiors added within the water treatment facility complex.
  2. Three new chiefs have been added – the leaders of the former USEC PMC group known as Rogues. The leader of the gang is Knight, who coordinates the actions of the entire group and specializes in assault operations. Birdeye maintains a distance between himself and the enemy, sets up ambushes and selects locations with a clear line of sight for the area. Big Pipe favors the grenade launcher and serves the role of massive firepower in the battle and always rushes towards the enemy to reach the fighting distance.
    • The chiefs maintain contact with each other and with other rogues, but they do not stick to each other and instead maintain their own positioning distances. When an enemy is detected by either the bosses or the rogues, information about the enemy’s location is sent to everyone by radio, and the bosses prepare for battle, and take up tactical positions to engage.
    • Bosses help each other, use all available weapons, and are hostile to everyone: players of any faction, Scavs, Raiders. They do not communicate with the rest of the bosses and the fence, so they immediately attack any enemy. Killing them does not affect the player’s reputation.
    • The habitats of the chiefs are Lighthouse, Shoreline, Woods, and Customs. They don’t stay in one place and instead walk around these sites all the time. If the bosses move to one of the maps, they will be absent from the other maps. There is no timetable for their movements and no one knows what the chiefs are guided by when changing their positions.
  3. Offline co-op mode added. This game mode is only available to players who have purchased the pre-order version of Edge of Darkness.
    • Added “Co-op mode” checkbox in game mode selection screen. In cooperative mode, all settings of bots, bosses, time and weather are the same as for online raids. Progress in cooperative raids is not saved, and gear used in such raids will not be lost upon death;
    • The “Start as a group” checkbox allows all players in the group to spawn together in the center of the site. With the checkbox unchecked, all players will appear as in online mode.
    • The number of players in a group has been increased in co-op and depends on the maximum number of players in the selected location.
    • The number of collaborative servers may be limited under heavy loads. In this case, on the group assembly screen, you will see a message that says “Attention! High load on training mode servers”. This message means that it may take longer than usual to find a server for a co-op raid.
  4. Animation paraphrasing:
    • Updated character movement animations, jumps and stances, and added new breathing animations, melee attack animations, and weapon/holster drawing.
    • Added sprint enemy animation that changes according to weapon type (rifle, pistol, melee, grenade) and its length.
    • Rotations and body tilts when moving and jogging have been added. The lower the player’s speed/position, the lower the tilt of the body during turns, and vice versa.
    • Weapon operations were carried out during the enemy, in particular the ability to switch to another weapon, switch firing modes, check store / room, fold and open, inspect and reload.
    • Fixed third person weapon twisting while prone when lying on the side.
  5. Daily quests have been added to clear a player. Quests will be given by Fence once per day, and will be available after the Intelligence Center is created in the Hideout, regardless of the PMC character level.
  6. A new type of daily quest has been added – searching for items from a category such as food, medicine, weapons, etc. All items must be found in one raid.
  7. Slots have been added for special items in the PMC inventory, where you can place a compass and rangefinder, a wi-fi camera, a marker, and other special items. Items in special slots are not lost upon death. Nor can it be looted from corpses. To activate an item from a special slot, you need to set a switch on the quick access panel (1-9).
  8. Flare rifle and flare shots interacting with flare and flare ammo have been added. Shooting red light flares will summon a plane with an airdrop to fly as close as possible.
  9. Airdrop mechanics have been updated – 4 types of containers have been added with unique contents (weapons, medicines, supplies, general items). Added counter flares when flying in and dropping the container. Updated aircraft flight paths and reduced engine sound.

  14. The animations of the MP-133 and MP9 have been reworked

  16. New equipment and items have been added
  17. Perception skill rewards changed – now, hearing radius increases by 0.3% per level, up to 15% for max level. Prior to this change, the radius of hearing increased by 0.7% and even 35%.
  18. Changed inertial velocity and force at tilt
  19. New clothes have been added for the two PMC factions
  20. New crafting recipes have been added to the cache
  21. The effect of the Elite Metabolism skill has been reworked – now, with 0 Hydration and Energy, you will receive no damage from thirst and hunger, but will still receive other negative effects. Prior to this change, there were no negative effects at all.
  22. The effect of the Elite Strength skill has been reworked – now, weapons equipped on the sling, back, and in the holster are weightless. All other equipment and item weight in chest pads, backpacks, bags, and secured containers are calculated as normal. Prior to this change, all equipment and weapons were weightless.

Graphical improvements:

  1. AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution (FSR) – Image scaling technology in modern 3D games that allows you to increase performance with minimal loss in final image quality. FSR is an analog of DLSS technology and is supported by all AMD RX400 series graphics cards and newer, as well as NVIDIA 1000 series cards and later.
    • The FSR option is only available for Full HD (1920 x 1080) and higher resolutions. Performance mode is only available for 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) and higher resolutions.
  2. The ability to enable Mip Streaming in graphics settings is temporarily disabled. We are currently reworking this functionality and will re-enable it in the next updates.
  3. The NVidia Reflex version has been updated.
  4. Reworked laser sights for all tactical devices: With infrared mode enabled, lasers and flashlights will not be visible because they are designed for use with NVGs. Also, the intensity and brightness of standard non-IR lasers have been increased.

  • Fixed an incorrect patrol path for Tagilla in the Night Factory;
  • Fixed lack of wet asphalt effect with SSR enabled in some places of the beacon location;
  • Added deadlock when quickly tapping the A/D keys;
  • Fixed robot behavior when shooting with pistols;
  • Weapon Code penalties from ammo are now displayed correctly for handguns;
  • Fixed Tagilla’s incorrect behavior when changing positions during combat;
  • Killa is no longer hostile to Player Scavs with a reputation above 6.0;
  • fixed width of weapons in the folded and unfolded state in the bunker;
  • Fixed the possibility of freezing hands of bots;
  • Thieves are now aggressive again towards USEC players they killed in previous raids;

According to Battlestate Games, maintenance will last for 5 hours, which means you should expect the downtime to end today at 5AM PT/8AM ET/12PM UTC/1PM GMT/2PM CET 10pm EST. However, the developer mentioned that it may need to extend maintenance if necessary.
