The Sims 4 High School Years expansion was released this month

The Sims 4 is getting another expansion, and High School Years is set to release on July 28.

High School Years is the latest expansion pack for the 2014 title. The Sims 4 differentiates between the larger expansion packs and the smaller game packs. High School Years is the game’s twelfth expansion pack, while twelve game packs have also been released, including the latest Werewolves pack.

As the name suggests, your high school years will be centered around your Sims high school experience. The expansion appears to be geared specifically toward recreating the American high school experience. Judging from the expansion view, this will bring with it all the highs and lows of high school life including prom, extra curricular, academics, and social anxiety.

The high school years setting is the Copperdale High prototype. The trailer shows some of the locations the expansion will bring, high school arcades, sports fields, a gallery complete with a ferris wheel and a new spot for boba tea.

The lead producer in the expansion, George Pegola, made the following statement regarding his high school years:

“Sims will learn to match school and extracurricular events, make lifelong friends, and experience big moments like prom. They can even develop costumes they love and hate using the new Trendi app with clothes designed by Depop sellers. High school is an incredibly formative time, and we wanted To give players the opportunity to create and customize their own high school experiences before their Sims reach adulthood.”

You read that right, the expansion adds an in-game app with outfits designed by famous Depop designers like Selena Williams (Selinas Storeand Bella McFaddenI am a girl). Between this and boba, this might be the perfect video game adaptation of the year.

The Sims 4 High School Years will be released on July 28 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One.
