A deep dive into Exodus promises to reveal some groundbreaking new information about his past, including insights into his past relationships with Apocalypse and Magneto.
As the preview pages reveal, Exodus appears to encounter the secret tomb of Apocalypse while wandering aimlessly in the hot Egyptian desert during the Crusades. Once Apocalypse puts his powerful hands on Exodus’ face, his mutant abilities manifest themselves and he transforms into his contemporary costume. Next, he soared into the sky and drew a direct line toward the sun, taking in its heat waves.
Gillen said in a recent interview with popvers. “It should have come from the books. So, yeah, I was looking at the Avengers, what Jason [Aaron] Built in legends there. I was looking at the X books, Krakow’s secrets coming to light, and I was looking at what I was doing in the Eternals, which dance with both, the different tensions in the Eternal Society there. Now, these things are going to explode. It’s just this kind of “Oh, look, these are three logical strains that intersect, let’s get them out and see what happens with them.”
