Kevin Smith says Anthony Starr deserves an Emmy nomination for Homelander

Season 1 of boys It didn’t quite win the Primetime Emmy Awards, but the second season managed to earn a nomination for two of the biggest awards, Outstanding Writing for a Dramatic Series and even Outstanding Drama. Although it failed to win either, the series is clearly considered top-notch by Hollywood peers and even critics and audiences. With the show’s third season almost complete, hope is starting that more Emmy love for the show will gain traction on the internet. Among the voices excited to watch the show is Kevin Smith, who said in the recording that he wanted to see Homelander actor Anthony Starr take the Amy home.

Everyone is like ‘Herogasm!’ “But it’s like f-cking. This is the episode where he goes like Homelander and Soldier Boy from toe to toe and then Butcher jumps f-cking and it becomes a three-way fight to basically a stalemate, where he gets chased,” Smith said in his Fatman Beyond Podcast About episode 3.06 of the series. “What’s the name of this guy this actor? (Anthony Starr) at least deserves an Emmy nomination, if not a great win. Such an amazing performance not only like ‘You Like to Hate’, like JR Ewing but horrifying swinging… still a great show.” Really, a pretty twisted ride….still one of the best non-TV shows because it’s Amazon.”

He continued, later, noting: “But also give an Emmy to these authors. I’m telling you there with the PM, and he’s throwing a pig live on that episode of black mirror, that ant man walking through a man’s hole is like, You know the bar has just grown up kids. Nothing else will be the same then, how do you keep them on the farm once they’re inside the man hole? This was crazy.”

The most important thing about Smith’s comments is that this podcast was only referring to last week’s episode of the hit series, which means we’ll have to wait a few more days to hear the writer/director’s thoughts on recent developments and it’s huge Homelander development.

The first seven episodes of boys Season 3 is now streaming, with only one season left before the season ends. Amazon Prime Video has already renewed the series for a fourth season, with production starting later this year.
