Wakanda Forever promotional art reveals first look at another iconic Marvel character

It’s been a busy weekend for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Although Marvel Studios has yet to officially begin marketing the film, promotional art from Ryan Coogler’s follow-up has begun to appear online. Over the weekend alone, the first serious look at both Namora (Tenoch Huerta) and Attuma surfaced online.

Now, another piece of promotional art reveals another movie villain – Namor’s classic supporting character, Namora. Although Namura looks closer to Namur in the source material, her appearance for the film has been updated to look like Otoma, a blue-skinned warrior dressed in Aztec-inspired clothing.

While Namora isn’t a villain in the Marvel Comics lore, it seems increasingly likely. Wakanda forever Wakanda will pit against the underwater nation led by Namur.

“It is an incredible honor for Chadwick Boseman,” Laetitia Wright previously said of the feature. “It’s full of exciting stuff. November, couldn’t have come so soon, so I’m excited to see you guys.” Wright continued: “We honored him with our commitment to the story he started, the legacy he started with this franchise, and we committed every day to working hard no matter what the circumstances we faced. We faced a lot of circumstances. A. A lot of difficult situations, but we came together as a team. We put everything in this movie.”

Gurira made similar comments in another interview. “Listen, we poured everything we had into it,” Gurira said. “We hope you get to experience that, and resonate with the way this is happening to us. It tells a very painful story and that’s all I can say. I’m so grateful for the way the director/writer handled that.”

Lupita Nyong’o, Danny Gurira, Winston Duke, Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, and Martin Freeman lead Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverwhich opens in theaters November 11.
