Xbox Games with Gold give up Xbox 360 titles in latest hit to subscribers | Games | entertainment

It’s bad news for Xbox Live Gold subscribers, as Microsoft is removing one of the monthly perks. Microsoft’s original Xbox subscription package, Gold gives members the ability to play games online, as well as exclusive discounts. Xbox Live Gold subscribers also get two free Xbox One games per month, plus two free Xbox 360 games…so far. In an email to customers, Microsoft announced plans to stop giving Xbox 360 games to Gold members.

That’s according to industry expert Wario64, who claims that Xbox 360 titles won’t be part of Xbox Gold from October.

The only saving grace is that any previously claimed Xbox 360 games can be re-downloaded at any time.

“Starting in October, Xbox Games With Gold will no longer include Xbox 360 games (Microsoft has reached the limits of adding new X360 games to the GWG). The GWG will continue to offer Xbox One games,” the email reads.

“Any of the claimed Xbox 360 GWG titles can be re-downloaded regardless of membership.”

While this isn’t great news for Xbox Live Gold subscribers, there’s no denying that the quality of the monthly games with gold editions has steadily declined.

The current July 2022 lineup includes Beasts of Maravilla Island and Relicta on Xbox One, as well as Thrillville: Off the Rails and Torchlight on Xbox 360.

Thrillville: Off the Rails is available July 1 through midnight on July 15, while Torchlight can be downloaded from July 16 through the end of the month.

The description for Thrillville: Off the Rails reads “Design and manage your own theme park! With five new parks and 100 new missions, you’ll need an all-day pass to have this much fun.”

“The best part about creating crazy roller coasters is that you can ride them as many times as you want.”

Meanwhile, Torchlight is a hacking and slashing crawler game where players fight monsters and earn loot.

Choose from three character classes as you roam from downtown Torchlight and its safety to randomly generated dungeons to battle hordes of monsters and collect loads of loot.

“You’ll have a reliable animal companion by your side as you take on the main quests and side quests, fight the big bosses, and chat with the townspeople.”
