How many dark episodes are there?

The first season of Dark Winds will consist of six episodes in total.

With that in mind, there isn’t much of a premium to be thrown before fans see the end of the season.

Yes, AMC announced that Dark Winds had been renewed for a second season shortly after the series premiered.

Fortunately, episode 6 of Season 1 – titled HózhóoNaasháa – won’t be the end of the road and fans can expect the series to return sometime in 2023, although the exact release date has not been confirmed.

Speaking of Season 2, Collider also reported that Dan McDermott — president of entertainment and AMC studios for AMC Networks — influenced the success of Dark Winds and took time to look ahead:

“This once-in-a-lifetime creative and cast have done something really special with Dark Winds. We can’t wait to share the rest of this exciting journey for season one with fans and follow Joe Levorn and Jim Che on season two on AMC and AMC+ next year.”

McDermott expressed his “overwhelming gratitude” to the entire production team and a “special thanks” to executive producers Robert Redford, George RR Martin, Chris Eyre and Zane McClarnon, who “also lead the cast and bring humanity, power and wisdom to the rich living experiences of everything he does.”

Dark Winds is now broadcasting on AMC+.
