Since Corinne’s impressive role as Diana has gone from a young woman learning her way with the royal family to one in a situation that has become increasingly toxic for her, the actor hasn’t slowed down much, with two films set for 2022 movie releases. In a recent conversation with Vogue magazineCorinne opened up about their conscience.
I feel more visible when I’m referred to as “they,” but my closest friends, they’ll call me “she,” and I don’t mind, because I know they know me.
While it is important to note that Corinne’s experience of being identified as non-binary Definitely not going to match everyone who also knows the same way, it’s good that they are comfortable enough with their dear friends to feel that these guys aren’t trying to hurt them if they use the word “she” instead of “they” when referring to the star. As Corin notes, since their close friends know them, even if they use the word “she,” Corinne understands that they know who Corinne is in essence, so in these cases, careful use of pronouns matters a little less.
We are living in what seems to be a somewhat revolutionary time for a lot of people in the LGBTQ+ community. Although it is still difficult and certainly dangerous to live your true self, it has also become more acceptable to do so, in many different ways, than it has been in the recent past. As Corinne said in their interview, we all want to be seen and understood by those around us for who we really are. Corin also spoke about how they are likely to see their gender in the future, adding:
In my opinion, sex is not something that feels static and I don’t know if it ever will be; There may always be some liquidity for me.
Emma Corinne learns how to live the life they need, and in the way that works for them. And frankly, this is something we all have to do, no matter how we define ourselves.
