Fans have convinced the boys that Black Noir’s death is fake

*Warning: Spoilers await season 3 of The Boys*

Death and destruction has been the name of the game in The Boys since the first episode aired in 2019.

We’ve lost countless characters since then, many of them dying in the ugliest costumes imaginable and now, the season three finale seems to have killed off a fan-favorite character, Black Noir.

However, fans of The Boys are not convinced of Black Noir’s apparent death and many believe he can still make a comeback.

The past and present of Black Noir are explored in Season 3

Having served largely as a background character in the first two seasons of The Boys, Season 3 saw Black Noir take center stage on several occasions as more about his shadowy past and strange current situation were revealed.

Black Noir, whose real name is Earving, has been confirmed to be a member of Payback, Vought’s pre-formation super-team of the Seven, which featured Private Boy as its leader.

After an offer from Stan Edgar, Noir and the Payback team turned on Soldier Boy so they could hand him over to the Russians and form a new team with Homelander as their captain.

In the fight, Black Noir is badly injured by Soldier Boy, leaving his face burnt and his brain damaged, transforming him into the mysterious, silent mute we know and love.

Upon hearing that Soldier Boy is back in the present, Black Noir begins to act strangely, tearing off his tracking chip and hiding away at Buster Beaver’s pizzeria in Episode 7 where he is joined by visions of the restaurant’s cartoon mascots.

Black Noir’s animator friends helped him decide what to do next, and he eventually chose to return to the Vought Tower and convince Homelander to take on Soldier Boy.

Looks like Black Noir was killed in the season 3 finale

In the season 3 finale, join the Black Noir Homelander in the Vought Tower.

At the end of the previous episode, Homelander learns that Soldier Boy is actually his father and that he confronts Black Noir about whether or not he knows this key piece of information.

Black Noir silently nodded, acknowledging that he knew Homelander had a real father there.

Unsurprisingly, Homelander is angry with Noir for hiding this knowledge from him for years, and has stabbed him in the stomach before ripping out a handful of his internal organs.

The scene ends with Black Noir lying on the floor, blood oozing from his stomach, while his imaginary cartoon friends pet him crying as he appears to be dying.

Boys fans are convinced he’s not dead

After Black Noir’s apparent death in Season 3 of The Boys, fans of the series have wasted no time in using social media to put forward theories that Noir may not be dead after all.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “I don’t think he’s dead, they’ll bring him back because he’s a fan favorite and because Vought never announced his death, only Meave is weird.”

This fan echoed the message, stating, “Vought never announced his death the way they did Maeve, so I still have hope. I think it might also be that Vought will put a copy of Homelander in the suit to cover up Noir’s real death. We’ll see.” “

“He’ll definitely be back,” commented this fan, “Homelander probably going after like in the comics.”

While this fan commented, “Remember when Noir was given a full frontal blast by a terrorist who had the power to blast and walked away like nothing with half a face. I think he’ll be back in season 4 to join Butcher and his gang and Kimiko will teach him how to sign.”

Finally, this fan succumbed to the reality of Black Noir’s death, saying, “I wish his anime friends would comfort him in his eternal sleep. I was really sad to see him go.”

It’s worth noting that Black Noir’s powers include the ability to heal himself and we’ve seen him survive a lot of nasty injuries so far, so there’s a chance he might be able to recover, although it might take some time.

Furthermore, in The Boys comics, the story of Black Noir is very different as it is revealed that he is a clone of Homelander and eventually goes on to kill the leader of the Seven, so perhaps – as one fan noted above – this may be how this story comes as you look Vought to cover up Noir’s death.
