WWE’s Liv Morgan faces Ronda Rousey in a SmackDown match, joking SummerSlam title rematch

After a chaotic Money in the Bank match, Liv Morgan was the one to carry the Money in the Bank bag and then manage to cash it in on Ronda Rousey after her match against Natalya later in the night to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Tonight Morgan returned to SmackDown as the new champ, and Michael Cole jumped in the ring to meet her. You deserve it cheering broke out and then Cole said that Ronda had a knee injury before Morgan took advantage, to the chagrin of Rousey that Rousey might want to replay her match around SummerSlam. Rousey will eventually join Natalya in the ring and after an unexpected match, it looks like Rousey wants to rematch very soon.

Morgan said she welcomed and took her, then talked about what it takes to get to this point and that she’s willing to work ten times as hard as staying here, adding that no one wants this championship more than her. Cole then spoke about her days as a waitress, saving up to become a WWE star, and then talked about the journey to this point and all the setbacks she’s overcome.

Then Natalia came out and told her to shut up and said that the only reason she won the championship was because of her. Then she says once the clock hits midnight at SummerSlam, the dream will be over. Then she said that the only reason she hit Rossi was because Natalia injured her, and she liked to see her screaming in pain. While I lost the match, I enjoyed it.

Then Rousey hit the entrance ramp, obviously limping as she walked to the ring and up the stairs. Rossi told Morgan congratulations on stamping the moment at Money in the Bank. She also said that she enjoys it because defending a title is harder than winning it. She then turned her attention toward Natalia, saying she takes credit for her injury and cost of the title.

She said she wasn’t dressed for a match but was frustrated that the fight took her to Natalya, but then Natalya attacked her and knocked her to the ground, while Morgan attacked Natalya and kicked her out of the ring.

When we came back from the break, Rousey and Natalya were facing off in the ring, and despite Rossi’s leg getting attacked, he stalked Natalya’s leg and caused her to slalom the entrance ramp before Rousey aimed his hamstring. Then Natalya lifted and hit her on the apron, went to lock the ankle again and it was clear that Natalia was hurting.

Rossi slammed Natalya and then went to lock the ankle again, this time with Natalya in the center of the ring. Then she closed it and Natalia had no choice but to click. Rousey won the submission and mocked Natalya as she walked out of the ring. Rousey has now put herself back in the title picture, and it looks like this rematch will be sooner rather than later.
