Gearbox appears to be preparing (pun intended) for the full reveal Tales from Borderlands 2 at a time in the near future. Earlier this year, the old studio of the Borderlands franchise announced that it was working on a new sequel to Telltale’s adventure Tales from Borderlands. And while details about this project were scarce at the time, a new listing indicated that the official reveal will likely come very soon.
In recent days, a new classification for this Tales from Borderlands The follow-up appeared in Korea. Although the listing didn’t say much about the game, it’s officially labeled “New Tales From the Borderlands,” which is likely just a placeholder for the game. When the project was announced, Gearbox didn’t officially name the game, which led to many fans simply referring to it as Tales from Borderlands 2.
The reason this rating from Korea suggests that something should happen soon is that games are usually only rated in the region when they get close to release. Not to mention, Gearbox itself previously promised it’ll have more to share about the title later this summer. Given that we’re already about halfway through July, it makes sense that we wouldn’t go very long without getting some news.
At this time, the only thing we know for sure Tales from Borderlands 2 is that it should be released sometime later in 2022. It will also not follow the events of the first game and will instead focus around the new characters that Gearbox chooses to introduce. Whether or not the game will be released in a casual format is also unknown yet, but we should hear more soon.
