While there has been a lot of chatter about the deal, it appears that nothing has been finalized. Two months from now, it has been revealed that Musk is not planning to buy Twitter after all.
Why is Elon Musk no longer buying Twitter?
Musk said he’s not buying Twitter, according to message Share, as it claims there is a “misrepresentation” about how many fake accounts there are on the platform.
He further claimed that the company did not show him the data he needed to evaluate the business. Musk’s lawyer, Mike Ringler, also alleged that the company tried to hide some information that proved crucial to the completion of the deal.
How did Twitter react to Musk’s withdrawal of the deal?
It appears that the Twitter board is fully prepared to sue Musk to ensure that the deal ends. Brett Taylor, Twitter CEO, tweeted: “The Twitter board is committed to closing the deal on the price and terms agreed with Mr. Musk and plans to pursue legal action to enforce the merger agreement. We are confident we will prevail in Delaware court.”
What is bot information?
Musk was quick to share a meme that seemed to be mocking the situation. The only thing that came up in the meme was a reference to “bot information” where the statement read: “Now they have to reveal the bot’s information in court.”
The bot information here means that Musk wants to know how many bots or spam and fake accounts there are on Twitter.
