Snapchat is down! On July 12, several people took to social media to express their disappointment because they noticed that the platform would not allow them to log in and continued to log them out.
This is not the first time that users have been left to encounter this problem. A similar incident happened last year but Snapchat didn’t take long to correct it.
In fact, the app was focused on improving the platform by introducing new features to it.
Why Snapchat won’t let you sign in
Snapchat will not allow you to log into your account at the moment because the platform is experiencing issues and is currently down, as confirmed on the official Twitter account.
The tweet Note: “We’re aware of an issue that prevents some Snapchatters from logging in. Wait a minute, we’re looking into it and working on a fix!”
It seems that users started encountering this issue about 2 hours ago. Since Snapchat is aware of the current issue, we believe that they should all be fixed within a couple of hours and users will be able to enjoy the platform again.
Snapchat Introduces Snapchat Plus
Snapchat Plus provides additional features to the user that would normally not be available to them. It consists of exclusive, trial and pre-release features that can be purchased for $3.99 per month.
Some of its new features include a story rewatch indicator. This comes with an eye emoji tag and allows users to get an estimate of how many times others have re-viewed their story.
Another feature that is offered is ghost tracks on the map, a function that allows you to know where your friends have been in the last 24 hours. It is important to note that users will only be able to access this information if it has been activated by the third party.
There is also a Best Friend feature that allows you to pin your Best Friend.
