Later this year, Disney + will launch the animated series from Marvel Studios I grew up, a series of short videos starring the little talking tree as he embarks on nasty adventures. Like every other MCU show on the streaming service, it looks like I Am Groot will only be available on that platform, but it’s now been revealed that the series will be showing in some movie theaters, but there’s a major catch. As you noticed directone episode of I Am Groot will be shown exclusively at Los Angeles’ El Capitan Theater (which is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company).
One episode of the series, “Magnum Opus,” is set before select shows of Thor: Love and Thunder at the Hollywood Theater starting July 18. Running in El Capitan for one week only, the I Am Groot short will run before one screening of the film, specifically “4:15pm shows on July 18 and 19, and 1pm shows from July 20-24.” You can see the official poster for Al-Qusayr’s appearance in the theater below.
