Bruce Willis returns to Nakatomi Plaza in Die Hard for the film’s 34th anniversary

Bruce Willis took a trip down memory lane as he revisited the famous Nakatomi Square in Los Angeles, 34 years after it was used in the movie Die Hard.

Detective John McClain once said, “I promise I will never think of climbing into a tall building again.”

More than three decades later, those words seem insignificant to Willis, who portrayed the heroic character in the action movie.

In an emotional post by Willis’ wife Emma Heming, the actor is seen admiring the view of Los Angeles as he stands on the roof of Nakatomi Plaza, the site of the terrorist takeover of the film.

Heming paid a moving tribute to the actor and his iconic film by putting together a black-and-white clip of her husband standing on a railing in the realistic Fox Plaza building, with excerpts from his most memorable scenes.

The rooftop served as the site of McClane’s iconic leap from the building, where his entire life was put in the trusting hands of the fire hose draped around his waist. Accompanied by an epic helicopter explosion in the background, the detective was the ultimate action star.
