Krispy Kreme teams up with lollipop and humor for an ice cream truck-inspired cupcake

While we’re starting to see the first signs of fall—at least in terms of food and Halloween decor worlds—it’s still pretty summertime and now, Krispy Kreme is teaming up with Popsicle and Good Humor for a pastry spin on classic summertime treats from the ice cream truck. Starting Monday, July 18, Krispy Kreme is offering three new treats inspired by the popular lollipop and Good Humor favorites: Popsicle Firecracker Inspired Donut, Vanilla King Cone Inspired Donut, and Creamsicle Inspired Donut.

The fireworks-inspired popsicle cake is described as an original icing-glazed cake inspired by the Popsicle Firecracker, dipped in blueberry sugar, then topped with a dollop of flavor cream inspired by the Popsicle Firecracker. The Vanilla King Cone-inspired donut is described as a donut filled with vanilla custard cream, dipped in chocolate cream, and topped with a mixture of sugar cones and chopped peanuts with a sprinkle of chocolate cream. The Creamsicle Inspired Donut, perhaps the most interesting of the trio, is described as a donut filled with vanilla cream custard, with Creamsicle-inspired cream topped with a drizzle of white icing and small sprinkles.

“Does a donut really have to taste like a cyclamen cream? Yes. Yes, it should taste.” Dave Skena, Global Brand CEO of . said:Crispy Cream. “And we didn’t stop there as we whipped up some of America’s favorite frozen foods this summer.”

In addition to cake, there’s also a drink, Creamsicle Inspired Chiller, a frozen drink made with a creamy frappe base and orange zest. All Ice Cream Truck items are available for a limited time at participating locations.

Interestingly, this isn’t the only “ice cream” related news from Krispy Kreme in recent months. Back in June, the company revealed plans to get into the realm of ice cream or, more specifically, ice cream flavored like Krispy Kreme Donuts.

Krispy Kreme’s Original Glaze Soft Serve in cups, cones or milkshakes will be available at 10 markets across the country at launch. Those markets include Charlotte, Greensboro and Winston-Salem in North Carolina; Greenville, South Carolina; Norfolk and Newport News, Virginia; Charleston, West Virginia; Nashville, Tennessee; and San Antonio, Texas. The chain says it plans to roll out to more markets such as Mobile and Alabama; Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Pensacola, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; Soon Branson, Missouri, and Wichita, KS.
