EA unveiled FIFA 23 today, and it’s set to be the last release before the iconic soccer series drops the huge FIFA name next year. FIFA 23 will give fans plenty of new features and updates to cling to, with this year’s release from EA that includes not one, but two World Cup modes – for the upcoming Men’s World Cup in Qatar and next year’s Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. Not only that, but women’s club soccer leagues will be playable for the first time, cross-play between PlayStation, Xbox and PC has finally been added and some major changes are coming in FUT which not only revamps the chemistry system but also adds a new mode called FUT Moments .
EA has also confirmed a FIFA 23 release date, where those who choose the Ultimate Edition can play it from September 27, while the Standard Edition can be played from September 30.
Speaking about the upcoming release, Nick Ludica, Senior Vice President and General Manager, EA Sports FC, said: “We’ve pushed the boundaries of realism in EA SPORTS FIFA 23 with HyperMotion2, using the latest technology to capture images of men and pros. Women’s teams in matches with full intensity translates into millions of Data points into new real-time animations.
“The result is the most natural and realistic movement in football games, and when combined with the inclusion of both the men’s and women’s World Cup, women’s club football and cross-play features, it will immerse players and football fans around the world for years to come.”
One of the big features in FIFA 23 is HyperMotion 2, which uses twice as much match capture data as before to deliver more realistic animations.
Over 6000 original animations taken from millions of frames of Advanced Match Capture were used in FIFA 23.
The gameplay in FIFA 23 has also been tweaked with a new risk-to-reward shooting mechanic, updated free kicks, and corner kicks.
Elsewhere, the match day experience has been revamped with augmented reality replays available that give you more information, such as expected goals, shot power and distance from the goal – perfect if you like your stats.
If you are new to FIFA, there will also be a new Training Center to help you deal with the basics of the game.
But one of the biggest additions to FIFA 23 will be the inclusion of the much-anticipated cross-play.
Crossplay will be available between the PS4 and Xbox One versions of FIFA 23, while crossplay is also available between PS5, Xbox Series X, S, PC, and Google Stadia.
Crossplay will be available in 1v1 modes via FIFA Ultimate TeamTM, online seasons, online friendly matches and more.
Elsewhere, along with having patterns for both women’s club teams in the Women’s and Men’s World Cup Finals, they were also added to FIFA for the first time with FIFA 23.
The Barclays FA Super League Women’s League and Division One Arkema are coming to FIFA 23 at launch.
While HyperMotion 2 capture was used to recreate the original animation of the female gamers.

FIFA 23 will bring some big changes to FUT, with a revamped Chemistry system and the addition of a new mode called FUT Moments.
Elsewhere, Career Mode is also updated with the new Playable Highlights system that lets you play through the season in a whole new way.
You will also be able to manage some of the most famous football names.
FIFA 23 will also bring Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football modes closer together, enabling you to customize, play and develop your player through both modes, with the ability to earn Pro Clubs XP no matter which mode you’re playing.
FIFA 23 is the last release before EA drops the FIFA name and launches EA Sports FC next year.
