Gengar Squishmallow confirmed as Pokémon Co announced a collaboration

It’s official. Fans will be able to get their very own Gengar Squishmallow as The Pokémon Co announces their upcoming collaboration at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.

Ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, The Pokémon Company announced that it would be launching a range of products in collaboration with Squishmallow.

On Twitter, the two companies shared a video teasing the iconic Pokémon, Pikachu, in the form of a Squishmallow, while announcing that it will premiere at the comic conference, which runs July 21-24.

Since publishing, the original Squishmallow ad has received over 7,400 likes, nearly 400 comments and over 2,000 retweets and quoted tweets. So it’s safe to say that fans were pretty excited about the news.

One fan even stated that this was what they were “dreaming about” and provided the company with a set of fan concept sketches for more Pokémon Squishmallows. What they didn’t know was that they were road In front of us all.

Ginger Squishmallow

Before the start of Comic-Con Aaron Margolin, Jazwares’ global Pokémon squad manager, shared the tweet fans have been waiting for – there’s going to be a Gengar Squishmallow.

Aaron shared a photo of the Squishmallow and Pokémon co-op at the conference, revealing a ghost Pokémon that will also appear in the co-op alongside Pikachu.

“The entire team put a lot of work into this collaboration, but a big shout out goes to stylist Guan Chen who designed both Pikachu and Gengar!”

Fans responded, saying that they “cry and scream” because they “need” to add the plush to their collections.

What is Squishmallow?

While we’ve all at least heard of Pokemon — or even plunged into the franchise since we first got our hands on GameBoy in the ’90s — if you don’t know what Squishmallow is, we’ve got you covered.

Squishmallow is a soft and cuddly plush that is known for being super adorable reproductions of your favorite characters or originals.

The brand was first released in 2017 by Kelly Toys Holdings LLC, and since then, it has created over 1,000 crafts in various sizes.
