While much of the Star Wars fandom has been focused on developing projects featuring beloved and well-known characters from a galaxy far, far away, one of the most secret corners of the franchise has been developed in the form of Star Wars: The Helper. Although little is known about the upcoming TV series, Star Wars confirmed it today the hate you give Star Amandla Stenberg joined the project, apparently in the lead role. The news was confirmed when Star Wars shared Stenberg’s Instagram post from San Diego Comic-Con 2022 in which she appeared with a number of different costumes and props from the upcoming. “Next stop: a galaxy far, far away…” Steenberg commented on their message. “I am so excited to finally announce that I have joined Star Wars: The Helper! The tribute is an understatement. May the force be with you.”

Another reason fans are looking forward to the upcoming series is that it is set to be the first live project to be set before the events of the Skywalker Saga, as it was set 100 years ago. Star Wars: Phantom Menace. Hedland previously explained her passion for all corners of the Star Wars lore and how she drew inspiration from elements from the universe of Star Wars Legends stories.
“The truth is, I, as a huge fan, came to them with this idea. And I said, ‘I think the best place to put this is in an era that you guys haven’t fully explored yet,'” Headland revealed to Vanity Fair earlier this year. “They were so excited. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to explore it [existing] world, but I think they were already because The Mandalorian And a lot of other TV projects were really based on the old characters.”
She continued, “I was treating her like a fan who was more into the RPG that the Expanded Universe feeds on. I came really hard at it in the ’90s, and then I got to know the [Star Wars:] clone wars. I knew the schedule really well. And I was like, “I think if you want to explore Star Wars from the perspective of the bad guys, the best time to do that is when the bad guys are outnumbered. When they are actually the underdogs, for lack of a better term. So this is going to be that era.”
