Tanjiro’s representative explains why Ringoku’s death hit harder than expected

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Finishing his second season, he’s going to put things very seriously in describing the final episode’s impulse with feelings. The show doesn’t play around when it comes to tearjerkers, after all. Indeed, some of the most heartbreaking moments from Season 2 are unfolding since it retold the Mugen Train arc, and now the actor behind Tanjiro is opening up about why he experienced Flame Hashira’s death stronger than expected.

The conversation took place in Los Angeles as Natsuki Hanai, the Japanese voice of Tanjiro, appeared at this month’s Anime Expo. There was an actor who appeared in front of fans in a completely sold-out painting and quit his time at work Demon Slayer. So when asked about Ringoku’s death and how Tanjiro reacted, Hana said their last conversation left him in tears.

According to Hanae, the chat reached him because Rengoku’s voice actor is a trusted senpai member. Satoshi Hino has been in the industry for decades, and Hana has come to respect the actor without any reservations. So when the Tanjiro representative had to say goodbye to Rengoku, Hanae couldn’t help but think about what it would be like to say goodbye to the Hino period. With Rengoku’s advice to Tanjiro, Hanae said he felt senpai was giving him those tips in real life.

Obviously, Tanjiro’s last conversation with Rengoku was difficult to film behind the scenes, but Hanae easily let the scene in. In the panel, a Demon Slayer producer confirmed that the star nailed the scene on his first try, and Hanae continues to grow stronger in his performance. So by the time Tanjiro appears Demon Slayer Season three, there’s nothing Hanae can do.

What do you think Hanae thinks of this scene? Do you think the actor does justice to Tanjiro in Demon Slayer? Share your thoughts in the comments section below or follow me on Twitter @Megan Peters CB.
