After “Chapter One Hundred and Sixteen: The Situation” on Sunday night, only one episode of RiverdaleSeason 6, and while “The Stand” proves to be one of the fiercest series to date as Archie and his friends gather to battle Percival Pickens, there’s still another threat the town must face. The CW has released a preview of “Chapter One Hundred and Seventeen: Night of the Comet,” the final sixth season of Riverdale It’s set to air on Sunday, July 31, and from the looks of things, the residents of Riverdale will now have to face the apocalypse.
In the presentation, we see the series’ various characters all preparing for the worst, which is most likely the arrival of Bailey’s Comet, the celestial event previously visited in the season four episode, “Chapter Nine-Nine: The Witching Hour(s).” Whatever the comet brings to Riverdale, it will change everything heading into the seventh and final season. Even with little information on what to expect at the end of this season, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has quipped that the season will end on a “big swing” given that next season, Season Seven, will be Riverdalethe last one.
“I’m out of conversations with the studio, The CW, and [network president] “Mark Bedowitz,” Aguirre-Sacasa said. TVLine. “When we got renewed for Season 7, even though we weren’t told at the time that it would be our last season, I think we all had a feeling it might as well.
