Batman Star Paul Dano is ready to return as The Riddler in the sequel

DC Comics has revealed its new comic book based on the Riddler version that appeared in Batman. The Riddler: Year One Written by the actor who played the character in BatmanPaul Dano, and gives us a look at Edward Nashton’s life before the events of the film. Director Matt Reeves appears to have some involvement with the comic, but he’s probably hard at work developing a sequel to the critically acclaimed movie. During the film’s final moments, Riddler becomes friends with Joker (Barry Keoghan) and leaves the door open for more appearances. Now, it looks like Dano is about to reset the second part. During a new interview, the actor revealed how ready he is for a comeback.

“I’ve spent the last year writing this comic book [Riddler: Year One] Because I loved our movie so much, Gotham and Batman, all of it,” Dano said IGN. “So you know, if they call me, I’ll show up, yeah! It’d be really fun to get in there with another good actor like Barry.”

Dano shared the screen with Robert Pattinson who played Batman in the movie and his actor was known for his social awkwardness within the press and apparently actually helped him during filming. Batman. Director Matt Reeves previously appeared on KCRW where he revealed exactly how Pattinson’s physical awkwardness helped him film The Dark Knight.

“Not only is that a clear face of who he is, because he’s clearly a part of it, but it’s something he’s in control of as well,” Reeves said on the podcast. “One of the things I have found so wonderful working with him is that he works in a way that almost feels like a style actor. However, you can see that he has great access to his emotions, and he puts himself into a situation. But he is also incredibly in control of his instrument, the way Which he’s moving in. It’s all very technical, and he’s very intentional. So I can tell him, I need this to be a little hotter, and he can get to that very easily. [And I could say] But I also, because of that cowl and the way the light hits your eye, I want you to lean a little more to your left, or else I won’t see your eye. He can do both of these things simultaneously.”

“He had a tremendous ability to access his emotions, but he also controls his movement, so all of these things come from a very internal place. But he has a tremendous ability with himself physically. He’s very capable of accessing every single one of those things, but also in a very specific way. Weird at the same time, while he can be out of control, he can also be incredibly controlling in terms of how he calibrates his voice, the way he leans, where he stands in. And so I think the choices he makes are on some level, very conscious too, Although I know some of it must be unconscious because it comes from a very instinctive place.” Batman director added.

Directed by Matt Reeves, Batman Stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton / The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as GCPD’s James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham Da Jill Coulson, Jimmy Lawson. Mayor candidate Bella Real, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Colin Farrell as Oswald “Penguin” Copley Butt. The movie is streaming on HBO Max now!
