Blonde Just got a brand new trailer from Netflix. Ana de Armas has created quite a stir due to its NC-17 rating. Now, there have been multiple clips that the company has put together in anticipation of the release. Director Andrew Dominic has been consistent Blonde It deserves this rating. I have searched extensively for a platform that hosts the project. The actress was touched by this icon’s story and hoped to bring it to people who might not have known these facts about Marilyn Monroe. NC-17 in this case is for “certain sexual content”. The folks at the Motion Picture Association of America haven’t used this distinction for a lot of mainstream movies lately. In fact, this is a bit rare since the classification was developed. None of this deterred Dominic as he feels this is necessary to tell the story he chose to portray in the film.
In an interview with The Playlist, Dominic told the outlet that he was a little surprised by the decision to rate him NC-17. But, in the end, the MPAA has to do what it feels right to viewers. On the other side of the coin, the director was making his film the way he saw fit.
“Yeah, that was a bit surprising,” Dominic explained, “that I got that rating.” “It was really #MeToo that allowed this to happen Blonde is happening. It was a golden moment where you had to believe the woman’s perspective no matter what. Whereas before that I think people were really uncomfortable with how Blonde I depicted some sacred American cows. Then it became a golden moment where it didn’t matter whether they were sacred cows or not, which is why they were made, what eventually allowed them to happen.”
“Here’s the thing, though. It’s not like I’m unsympathetic to their point of view, you know? NC-17 is not a good thing for your movie, you can’t be on certain billboards and you can’t advertise certain things and there are all kinds of restrictions that It is being imposed on you because of this rating.” “So, getting NC-17 is not good, you know, and it’s not something I wanted the movie to get. Also, I don’t think it’s something the movie deserves, it doesn’t really reflect society’s standards, I think it’s a political thing.”
“we will, Blonde You’ll get a kind of theatrical release,” Dominic added. I mean, you can’t have a billboard, and…what I don’t understand is why Netflix signed up with the MPAA anyway. I mean, there must be some advantages. I just can’t understand why anyone would put themselves under such censorship if they didn’t have to, but… you know, honestly, I probably shouldn’t be thinking about these things because I really don’t. [know enough about it.]”
