New FTW Champion crowned AEW Dynamite

Ricky Starks managed to retain the FTW Championship against Danhausen during AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen on Wednesday. But he grabbed the microphone again and demanded another opponent, this time I swear he’s serious. Hawk then arrived to accept the challenge and quickly beat the Starks, and Rochambeau faced Redderm’s surrender.

The win puts an end to the Starks’ record-breaking FTW Championship reign, and now brings the title to the son of the man who first introduced it, Taz. Starks and Hawk then clashed fists to show that they were still allied with Team Taz.

However, upon returning from the trade break, Starks was still in the ring with the Powerhouse Hobbs. He cut a promo about how his time is still now, how he made the FTW Championship relevant over the past year and that his recent shortcomings were bad timing. But just as his promo seemed to reach its emotional climax, Hobbs brutally attacked him from behind. Starks and Hobbs have failed repeatedly in recent months in their attempts to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
