The Trigun Stampede crew clarifies the double meaning of the title

Trigon Stampede Vash is set to bring back The Stampede for the first time since 2010, with the original anime series premiering in the late ’90s and introducing many anime fans to the human tornado for the first time. With a new anime series from Studio Orange arriving next year with a completely different Vash at its head, the creators behind the upcoming adaptation delve into some key aspects of the show while also explaining how the new title relates to the character of Vash and his exploits on his hated candy planet.

At this year’s Anime Expo, our very own Megan Peters was present at Trigon Stampede A panel, attended by the likes of Trigun creator Yasuhiro Nightow, along with concept designer Kouji Tajima, producer Kiyotaka Waki and producer Katushiro Takei. The creators tackled a number of topics across the board, but when it came to the decision to add “Stampede” to the new series title, he refocused on Vash and his character. Nightow was specifically looking out for the series to focus on the character of Vash and explore more of what would make it tick, with creator Trigun Nothing Vash had to be “foolish but cool” when he was cast in the new series.

As it stands, Studio Orange has been very quiet about the story Trigon Stampede, with the initial trailer revisiting a familiar scene in which Fache and his brother Knives are dumped from space and down to the planet below. However, this version of Vash looks very different from the one we were familiar with in the original manga and anime adaptation from Studio Madhouse, giving it a more modern look. Fans continue to debate whether this new series will be a prequel or a reboot of the franchise, although the same fans are mostly happy to see Vash the Stampede finally return to the anime world.

Trigon Stampede He hasn’t revealed a release date yet, but we’ll make sure to let you know all the details as soon as any new information arrives regarding the return of the Sixty Billion Dollar Man.
