WWE fans think Johnny Gargano will surprise opponent Seth Rollins at SummerSlam

There are only a few days left until WWE SummerSlam, but today the event received a major change, with WWE announcing that Riddle had not been medically cleared to compete against Seth Rollins. Many were excited about the match, due to the talent involved and the fact that it was one of the few matches on the card. Rollins would then issue an apology to the fans for not having a match on the card and saying it was all out of his control, then Triple H walked in and said “I hear you.” This is significant because Triple H is now the head of WWE Creative, and while there are some names in the mix for Rollins’ SummerSlam opponent, one name that has come up a lot is Johnny Gargano.

Gargano chose not to re-sign with WWE when his contract expired, and was given a full farewell bid before helping to get Grayson Waller excited. Since then, Gargano has been free to sign with whomever he pleases, but he held off returning to wrestling because he and Candice LeRae welcomed their first child, and wanted to take some time out and be a dad before jumping into a full schedule again.

He has started making appearances and signings but has yet to reveal where and when he will return to the ring. This is part of the reason some feel that a WWE comeback could be in the cards, as Gargano had a stellar performance in NXT when he was under the control of Triple H, and now that he’s in power at SmackDown and Raw, it looks like his debut on the main roster . Slightly different compared to when Vince was in control of things.

Granted, there are other names mentioned like Carmelo Hayes and Bray Wyatt, but Gargano’s name appears more than anyone else, and you can see some of the reactions fly in the beginning on the next slide.
