Sanrio launches Hello Kitty Roomba soon

There is no denying the popularity of Hello Kitty. The mascot has been around for decades at this point, and their kawaii friends are easy to spot. Of course, group icon status has given them a lot of perks, and no merchandise deals have been awarded more than Hello Kitty herself. And now, it looks like the cute cat is ready to transform into…Roomba?

Yes that’s the truth Hello Kitty is being transformed into a robot vacuum cleaner outside, and it’s only a matter of time before fans worldwide can convince the mascot to clean up their mess, too.

This news comes from AiMY, a Japanese company specializing in robotic vacuum cleaners. The brand has confirmed that it’s turning Hello Kitty into a model of its own, and Cinnamoroll will get a model, too. So if you need help with your chores, any of these characters will do the trick!

According to AiMY, the blanks for the amulet will be less than 12 x 12 inches in size and weigh three pounds or so. The rechargeable robots will vacuum in 60-minute cycles and will restart the fans for about $111 before shipping or taxes. If you live in Japan, you will be able to find these models through the AiMY website or on sites where the company’s products are sold. And for those who live overseas, well – no official plans have been made to release this product outside of Japan.

Of course, Hello Kitty fans can always browse through passive merchants for their vacuum cleaner, and we’re sure many will. Not everything Sanrio’s mascot does is clean up fans’ homes, so this is a special opportunity. And who knows? If this Roomba sells well, Hello Kitty might volunteer to mop the floors or wash the windows afterwards!
