Cameron Monaghan addressed some of the rumors regarding Cal Kestis appearing in some sort of live Star Wars project. Cal Kestis is introduced to the Star Wars universe in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a 2019 video game from Respawn Entertainment. It is one of the most loved Star Wars games and the only Star Wars single player game released since Disney got IP. Kestis became an instant fan favorite, offering a fresh perspective on the decades-old franchise. When the players meet him, Cal Kestis hides in plain sight a few years after Order 66 and the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Kestis is a young Jedi who manages to avoid the genocide of his own kind, but is in grave danger. Since his debut, many have wanted to see him in a TV show or movie.
Using the likeness of Cameron Monaghan in Cal Kestis, it makes it very easy to revive the character outside of games. When Talk to Screen Rant In a recent interview, Monaghan addressed rumors and speculation that Cal Kestis will appear live. When asked if there is any interest in appearing in live action form, he indicated that he is interested, but is unable to say anything beyond that. “Well of course there is interest,” Monaghan said. “That’s all I can say.”
Whether Cal Kestis appears in something like The Mandalorian Season 3 or another upcoming project remains to be seen. It’s even rumored that Cal Kestis will get his own Disney+ series. Of course, there is tremendous secrecy around these projects, so regardless of whether Monaghan knows something, he won’t say much one way or the other. Either way, Cal Kestis returns in 2023 thanks to Star Wars Jedi: SurvivorThe second game in the developed Respawn series. Not much is known about the title, but fans are eager to try out the sequel.
