Although Netflix gained a reputation for canceling popular shows after just one season, Neil Patrick Harris had good things to say about the streaming device. Disconnected It’s not yet officially confirmed for a second season, but it’s currently in the Top 10 TV shows on Netflix less than a week after it became available.
While Netflix supported the series, Neil Patrick Harris was still concerned about fan reaction. There aren’t many shows that portray a gay man – in the actor’s words – “of a certain age,” but Harris was happy to be a part of it:
I was worried that people wouldn’t be able to watch this unless they were a gay man of a certain age. I thought, “Is this offer very appropriate?” But really, I think everyone has gone through a breakup, or everyone is afraid to go through [one] Or get separated from her, and this show is a comic take on that idea that also lets you drift away and care about these characters, so I was really pleased to be a part of it.
Harris may have been unsure how viewers would react to the series, but Disconnected The show is heading to Netflix from August 3, 2022, so it looks like the show has been a huge hit with subscribers. We could always use more relevant content out there, and with someone like Neil Patrick Harris as the lead, you know the show is in good hands in front of the camera.
