Youngest child Thomas (Scott Hayes) is the only one still living on the family farm. His relationship with his disintegrated father forms Part One.
The second follows Ellie (Nick Stahl) as she is drawn into a crime plot involving a missing girl, a gangster and a gypsy gang.
The third introduces troubled middle child Mary (Kelly Garner) trying to adopt a child.
All threads unite in the brutal final act.
One twist was too much for me. But the performance is excellent, the dialogue is sharp, and director Vincent Grachow connects his various tales with a persistently menacing tone.
