Sasha Banks status updated for C2E2 amid WWE comeback rumors

There have been quite a few reports and rumors swirling around Sasha Banks (Mercedes Varnado), Naomi (Trinity Fatu) and WWE in recent weeks, and some are suggesting that Banks and Naomi could return to WWE now that there’s a new one. Responsible leadership, specifically Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Ahead of the latest developments, Varnado revealed that her first official post-WWE appearance would be at C2E2, and then it was revealed that Trinity would also appear on the show. The post announcing this has been deleted on Twitter, leading some to speculate that Varnado won’t be attending (perhaps because she’ll be back during tonight’s SmackDown), but Shawn Ross Sapp from the movie Fightful She confirmed that she is still scheduled for the event despite the deleted tweet.

Sapp has received confirmation from C2E2 regarding Varnado’s appearance at the conference. Sapp wrote on Twitter, “C2E2 has confirmed to me that Sasha Banks/Mercedes Varnado is still scheduled to attend the event, although they deleted their tweet promoting it.”

This is good news for those in attendance, as many were looking forward to meeting Farnado at the event. Now, her presence at C2E2 doesn’t necessarily mean she still can’t deliver SmackDown tonight and then go back in time for the show, but we’ll just have to wait and see if that’s really in the cards. C2E2 is located in Chicago, Illinois while SmackDown tonight is in Greenville, South Carolina.

WWE fans started getting their hopes up when a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter said that WWE had been trying to reconcile with Varnado and Fatu. Triple H showed up as a re-starring game previously released after Dakota Kai’s replay at SummerSlam, and Varnado and Fatu may see the change in leadership as a big step in the right direction in terms of how the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship was handled.

When WWE revealed that the two had been suspended indefinitely, they also revealed that the tournament was to be held for the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, but that didn’t happen and we haven’t heard about the tournaments since.
