Roger E. Mosley, actor perhaps best known for helicopter pilot Theodore “TC” Calvin on the CBS original series Magnum B Die. The then-83-year-old actor passed away Sunday morning, his death announced by his daughter, Ch-a, on Facebook (via Limit). No cause of death was given.
“We can never grieve for such a wonderful man,” she wrote. He hated any crying in his name. Time to celebrate the legacy he left for all of us. I love you Dad. You loved me too. My heart is heavy, but I am strong. “
Mosley starred alongside Tom Selleck in the original version Magnum B For eight years, she appeared in 158 episodes overall. The actor also reappeared in the reboot series, this time in a cameo appearance as a different character, Bucky, a Vietnam veteran and barber that TC (Stephen Hill) goes to for advice. Mosley eventually appeared in two episodes of the reboot series, season one “A Kiss Before Dying” in 2019, and season three “The Day Danger Walked In” in 2021. Mosley also showed support for the reboot, with Hale being called at the time. Experience working with the actor whose role he originated.
“Roger and his beautiful wife Tony are proud to have taken on the iconic character now and are excited to see me and the cast win,” Hill said at the time. “We exchanged gifts on set, and now we have Mr. Mosely and I on a signed Island Hoppers shirt from The Other Show. The proverbial torch has passed.”
