Blueair Blue Pure 411 Car Review: Price and Availability
For $139, the Blueair Blue Pure 411 Auto is a pretty solid deal, and sometimes you can find it for less than this on sales. It comes with a round filter that has a carbon layer and a HEPA filter – they cost $21 to replace. The air purifier itself is available for purchase from retailers such as Amazon, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Williams-Sonoma, and direct from Blueair.
Blueair Blue Pure 411 Car Review: Design
The Blueair Blue Pure 411 Auto is Blueair’s smallest air purifier, weighing just 3.8 pounds and standing at 17 inches tall. It has a round, numb surface that you can get lost in quite easily. Slide the matte white plastic wrap over, and you’ll find a fabric skirt that acts as a filter. This pre-filter comes in a colorful burlap pattern in grey, pink, blue and green and serves as the first, but not the last, layer of defense. There’s also a HEPASilent filter, which Blueair claims can capture 99.97% of airborne particles and a carbon filter to remove odors.
This air purifier comes with a single button on top, and it’s the only control you’ll need to use – because it’s the only one that has it. When pressed once, the device turns on and activates the automatic mode, which senses the quality of the air and determines the fan speed needed to clean it. On the front of the device, you’ll see a slit of light that can change from blue to orange to red. This light tells you the air quality based on its sensors. In the blue, he does not feel any problem and will continue to scream at a slow speed. If it hits an orange or red, it senses something in the air and will work overtime to remove any particles.
It has three dedicated fan speeds, low, medium and high, that can be accessed by pressing the same button. The low setting also acts as a night mode, which turns off the front air quality monitor and brings the fan to a quiet hum. You’ll have to cycle through each mode to get to the previous one, which can get a little boring if you miss the option you’re aiming for.
Blueair Blue Pure 411 automatic review: Ease of use
Once you took it out of the box it was very easy to set up the Pure 411 Auto because you don’t need to do anything: just take it out of the box and plug it into the wall. If you want to access the filters, simply remove the device cover and remove the top ring that allows you to turn it off. It is easy to replace and works very effectively considering how thin it is.
The Blueair Blue Pure 411 Auto came with a very thick and hard manual which includes a lot of different options and fixes for troubleshooting. There is also a label on top of the air purifier to guide you through one-button control and to show the device’s capabilities. One-button control, though, is not very intuitive, so it’s recommended that you just read the manual so you can understand how to program it.
Blueair Blue Pure 411 Auto Review: Performance
Based on CADR numbers, the recommended room size for this air purifier is 190 square feet. This is a bit small compared to other air purifiers, or the big brother of the 411, and Blue Pure 211+ Auto. But this air purifier is extremely compact, so these results are not surprising. It received a CADR score of 123, 107, and 96, respectively for smoke, dust, and pollen. Although these numbers may seem low compared to the others we tested, the Blueair Blue Pure 411 Auto is perfectly capable of filtering these contaminants into small spaces.
It used a fair amount of power when compared to a lot of other air purifiers we tested. When left in automatic mode for 24 hours, it uses .154 kWh, which will cost you about 50 cents a day to reference. For a high-quality air purifier, this may be worth the cost, especially if you only need to purify a small room.
And it didn’t make much noise, which makes sense for such a small tube. At the lowest speed, it recorded just above the room ambient noise, at 32.5 decibels. The detonation was maxed out, reaching 51.6 decibels, but that was nothing compared to the others we tested.
Because it’s so small, quiet, and easy to use, you can just put this air purifier in a corner and forget about it until it needs to replace its filters. However, we noticed that the device tends to fall off if you program it with a lot of pressure, so keep that in mind.
Blueair Blue 411 Car Review: Verdict
The Blueair Blue Pure 411 Auto isn’t the most powerful, coolest, or most effective air purifier, but its price and size are hard to beat. If you have a small space that needs purifying, this is the device for you. Just remember that this is the limit – it won’t be effective in large spaces.
It is not as technologically advanced as other Blueair devices, such as the Blueair HealthProtect 7470i or 211+ automatic. It also lacks power compared to these models. However, its attractive appearance and compact nature may make it a perfect fit for your smaller office or bedroom.
