If you watched the Comic Con interview with Bruce Campbell, one thing is immediately clear: The guy loves to mess around during interviews. Sometimes that doesn’t communicate as clearly as he would like, though, and during a recent interview, the star joked that he turned down some major roles at Marvel Studios, unwilling to be part of the big superhero machine, until Sam Raimi finally came along. He convinced him to play Pizza Bubba in Doctor Strange in a multiverse of madness. But when this joke was reported as fact, he had to take to social media to clear things up.
Noting that “this is the danger of ridicule,” he called his own quote (as delivered in title form) “total BS.” So, wait… does that mean Pizza Boba won’t really be an essential part of the Marvel Universe going forward?!

“If you stop for the fact that he’s a pizza guy, you’re very wrong — you’re shortsighted in your thinking,” Campbell joked to ComicBook.com last month. “It’s not a veil, it’s a brick. Because what did you do to Dr. Strange during that scene? 45 seconds. If he’s in one universe, he wouldn’t be in the other, the way these multiverses work….nothing is what it seems.” “
