Early odds for Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre

Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre will face off in the main event of Clash in the castle Pay-per-view on September 3 in Cardiff, Wales for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. “The Tribal Chief” has passed 700 days as world champion and seems virtually unstoppable, but McIntyre will have the advantage of the local stadiums as the show takes place in the UK. Add in recent reports that USA Network wants the world champion back to Raw constantly, and the prospect of Reigns dropping at least one of the titles to “The Scottish Warrior” all of a sudden seems feasible.

The odds makers seem to agree that the match’s initial betting odds from BetOnline have both Reigns and McIntyre at -120. Reigns has been consistently favored in betting lines since he began his reign at a World Championship. Meanwhile, McIntyre had been talking about hitting Reigns off his perch for several months.

“Right now, as far as I’m concerned, as far as the fans are concerned, it’s Thanos from the Marvel movies. It’s pretty much indestructible and not easy to get to. So this is the first stage to get to him, in that match, I’m going to do whatever it takes.” To get that match,” he told Sportskeeda earlier this year.

“I acknowledge that my feet will make contact with his face,” he later added. “I admit that what he’s saying is a lot of truth. That’s the cool thing about the character. He’s someone who, when I talk about people who stays within the character, actually stays inside the character. He’s been around for a minute and he hasn’t put these final pieces together , even though he was an outstanding man, even all that he achieved, although as much as he did, it took this “tribal chief” character to really go to that superstar level. He talks about numbers, I see numbers. Everything he says is based on The truth. He’s really a needle-driver. He’s really a big pull and he stays within this character. He only gets my recognition telling the truth, but I’ll tell the truth too. I’ll be the one to drop him.”

The show’s only other confirmed match to date is Liv Morgan vs. Shayna Baszler for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Stay tuned for more coverage as the card gets full!
