New Fatal Fury game announced at Evo 2022

In what is likely to be the most surprising announcement to come from Evo 2022, video game publisher SNK has announced that it is in the process of working on a new game in the Fatal Fury series. First launched in 1991, Fatal Fury is a legendary fighting game series that has received multiple entries via SNK’s Neo Geo platform. And while the main series you haven’t heard of in over 20 years, SNK decided it was time to finally come back with a new installment.

SNK was revealed via a new trailer today that debuted on Evo, and simply revealed that it has a new “green-lit” game in the Fatal Fury series. The trailer in question didn’t include any gameplay from the upcoming game, but primarily featured new artwork featuring Rock Howard’s character. Then it ended with a message confirming that a new entry was now working in SNK.

“Legends never die. After more than 20 years, Fatal Fury/Garou is back!” SNK said in its announcement on social media. “Finally, the long-awaited sequel has been lit up green!”

While details are still sparse, a revealing SNK message tells us that this new Fatal Fury game will be a direct sequel to 1999. Jarrow: Mark of the Wolves.
