Marvel’s Midnight Suns delayed indefinitely

Marvel’s Midnight Suns has been officially delayed, game publisher Take-Two Interactive announced (via IGN). The delay was also announced on the game official Twitter the account. Although delays are expected these days, the circumstances of such delays are unusual.

The game was scheduled to release on October 7 this year, which means that before the August 8 delay was announced, the game was supposed to come out in about two months. No future release date has been set, with Take-Two instead stating that the game will release during this fiscal year, sometime before March 2023.

Take-Two stated that the purpose of the delay is to “ensure that the teams at Firaxis Games and 2K provide the best possible experience for our fans.” However, there is another piece of note worth noting about this delay. Only current console versions are scheduled to be released, i.e. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions | S, as well as a PC version, prior to March 2023. The previous generation console, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch version, were all planned for release in October, but all have been postponed indefinitely.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick went into more detail with IGN, explaining that the goal of the delay was “to look for quality, and a great deal of confidence that we have a great title on our hands and want to make sure it’s as good as it can be.” “. He stated that he is not concerned about the possibility of delaying the game beyond the 2022 fiscal year.

For those unaware, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a tactical turn-based strategy RPG being developed by the great minds at Firaxis Games, the studio behind beloved series like XCOM and Civilization. This game seems to combine an interesting mix of genres, card-based matching abilities in strategic-tactical combat, and a story-choice dialogue that allows you to build different relationships with Marvel heroes.

Recently, the game’s YouTube channel has been very active in uploading a series of gameplay overviews. Many of these shows delved deep into the characters’ careers and showed off a lot of their abilities, so the delay comes as an even bigger surprise to many.
