It was revealed that the AEW star was injured during the dynamite

AEW Dynamite tonight was an action packed event and even featured the return of AEW World Champion CM Punk, so you may have missed the unfortunate news that AEW star Kris Statlander is currently injured (via Fightful). Tony Schiavone announced during the show that Statlander was dealing with an injury but did not go into details about the injury or how long she would be off the field. It looks like she may be dealing with a knee injury according to those who watched her latest in-ring appearance, but it has not been confirmed by AEW. We wish Statlander a speedy recovery and hope the injury is not serious.

Statlander has recently been involved in a feud with Jade Cargill and her crew, The Baddies, with Statlander allied with Cargill’s other opponent, Athena. They were previously joined by Anna Jay, but Jay has since joined the Jericho Appreciation Society and is out of this feud.

Hopefully Statlander can get back into the ring soon and pick up where she left off, although it remains to be seen what she will do when she does. It’s also unknown if she’ll return for AEW’s next big show All Out, which begins early next month.

At the moment, the card is still stacking up, but for now, there is a World Triathlon Championship final match scheduled to be shown. Eddie Kingston also challenged Sammy Guevara to a singles match at this event, and if CM Punk is officially ready to go, the AEW World Championship match will likely take place on a pay-per-view basis as well.

Now Jon Moxley is the interim world champion in AEW, and he held the title during tonight’s Dynamite against Chris Jericho. When Jericho was looking to attack Moxley, Punk returned and took JAS and Jericho, confronting Moxley as the show came to a close. Now the two will compete and the winner will unite the titles to become the only real AEW World Champion, although Punk is not out for the title after being injured.

We wish Statlander all the best and hope for a speedy recovery.
