New South Park game announced by THQ Nordic

New South Park appears to be in the works at THQ Nordic. As South Park is one of the biggest IPs out there, it has a long history with video games dating back to the 90s. Unfortunately, many of these early games were not well received and failed to match the quality of games thrown by other anime shows such as The Simpsons And the SpongeBob SquarePants. Years later, South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker decided to get deeply involved in the game that would eventually become South Park: Stick of Truth. The game had a long and turbulent development which saw THQ sell the game to Ubisoft after the first bankruptcy, but it proved worthwhile as the game was released to incredible reviews and went on to sell over 5 million copies.

THQ Nordic appears to have disputed the rights it took back from Ubisoft because it teased a new South Park game during the publisher’s digital presentation which saw the discovery of games like Alone in the Dark. And the SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. The live stream ended with a note saying there were 26 unannounced games still in development, before it faded away and the South Park Digital Studios logo appeared on screen. A voice can be heard repeatedly shouting “hot” before shouting “Oh, it’s coming!” The above note has been changed to say that there are 25 unannounced games in development.

As of now, there is no word on what this game will be called, how it will be played, or whether it is related to Ubisoft’s South Park RPG. It is also unclear who is developing the game as only THQ Nordic is the publisher. However, it has been years since Ubisoft South Park: The Break but the WholeExciting to know that a new South Park game is on the way. It will likely be some time before we learn more in light of the offer of glimpses of the games that seem to be coming fairly soon.
