Predator #2 First Look puts the franchise’s newest hunter in a deadly scenario (exclusive)

A new predatory hunter roams Marvel’s predator series. The popular franchise has found a new home in Marvel Comics, with writer Ed Brisson (iron fistAnd the Ghost rider) and artist Kev Walker (Dr. GharibAnd the Doctor) Take the reins on all-new adventures. The first issue of the new predator The series has already launched, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look into the future to see who’s set their sights on making alien killer species extinct. ComicBook.com has an exclusive first look at predator #2 By writer Ed Bryson, artist Kev Walker, and colorist Frank Dharmata.

The predator #1 Preview pages show Theta, who chases after a predator after a creature slaughtered her parents when she was a child. Hunting Theta now takes her to the frozen tundra, where she abandoned her ship called Sandy to go explore her new surroundings. Along the way, she uses her laser gun to take out a large four-eyed charging monster, and meets a group of unfriendly characters. One of the last pages seems to be from Theta’s early years where she found someone close to her turning into a predator before her tearful eyes.

“I’ve been obsessed with Predator ever since I first saw the movie in the auto theater when I was a kid. I can still remember sitting there in terrifying dazzle and then doing the movie to my classmates the following week at school,” Bryson said when Marvel announced the series in April.” Not only are I excited to write the Predator book, I am doubly excited to work with Kev Walker on the series. The pages he has flown so far are mind-blowing. He has introduced amazing alien planets; Huge, blood-pumping action scenes: devastating emotional hits all set in the space of the first issue. I really think we’re making something special here.”

Reviewed by Chase Magnett from ComicBook.com predator #1, giving it 4 out of 5 stars: “predator #1 is a comedian with one job: Showcasing the adorable aliens killing humans for the sake of sports. And he has succeeded in this respect, and he does so with some stylistic flair at some points. This will suffice and some readers may come back. predator #1 does the job in a way that makes readers more concerned about a human named Theta dealing with not-so-predatory problems by the last page, and that’s an impressive trick. Its story is bound to create a lot of the most impressive action sequences and showcase an abundance of colorful settings; Walker seems very apt to make a sci-fi show impressive. Theta’s story promises to make those visuals worthwhile by adding another attractive new perspective to the franchise.”
