The idea of John Cena turning into heels during his career as the best man in WWE was a fiction that was constantly debated by fans throughout the late 2000s until the mid-2010s. It never happened, but former WWE lead writer Brian Gewirtz confirmed in meeting with cheap heat Last week, he was brought up frequently by WWE’s creative team. WWE faced a similar situation with Roman Reigns when the company tried to make him the next top superstar. Like Cena, he was quickly dismissed by many fans of the sound, so the company pulled the trigger on turning his heels in 2020 by having him evolve into the selfish “tribe chief”.
