The series narrates the life and adventures of the cast, and promises to visit the Mist Mountains, the capital of the Lyndon Forests, and the shores of the island kingdom of Nimenor.
Recently, the series’ executive producer J.A. Bayona revealed that the top priorities in making the series were to embody Tolkien’s “optimism and love” and how they made that number one rule for the series.
“When you read Tolkien’s books you can tell how much he appreciates beauty, so the show is full of beauty,” said Bayona. “Tolkien is by nature optimistic, warm and emotional. This is a man who has gone through some of the darkest things in human history [in the First World War] And he didn’t get out of it and write a hopelessly horrific story.”
“[Tolkien] Bayona wrote a story about hope, and a young guy succeeded. “We’ve always felt that rule number one is that true optimism and love are needed, even in the show’s darkest and scariest moments.”
