Talks between West Ham United and Spezia over Jakub Kivior have stalled as the Premier League side refuse to loan him to the Serie A side for the 2022/23 season. Tuttomercatoweb.

It’s been a day of mixed news at the London Stadium.

On the one hand, Thilo Kehrer is leaving Paris Saint-Germain. But on the other hand, where the Hammers have failed with Matheus Nunes, Wolves have succeeded, with Club Brugge rejecting a £9m bid for long-term transfer target Hans Vanaken and not planning to sell under any circumstances.

“West Ham” wants Jakub Kivioru from “Spezia” playing in Serie A

A potential £10m deal for Jakub Kivior goes the same way; West Ham are banging their heads against the wall. Tuttomercatoweb says the talks “didn’t happen”. Although Spezia are adopting the Club Brugge approach and directing all offers to the nearest scrap paper.

Spezia, TMW says there is Ready to make money on Kiwior. As for West Ham, the problem is that they want the 22-year-old Poland international back on loan at the Alberto Picco Stadium for the whole of the 2022/23 season.

West Ham, however, want Kiwior immediately.

Given that both clubs have completely different ideas about what to do with Kiwior, it’s hard to see a compromise being reached. Or, for that matter, what a compromise would actually lead to.

Kivior can also play in the left-footed central midfield, stepping in for the injured Nayef Aguerd in Moyes’ back line. Aguerd could miss more than two months after ankle surgery.

West Ham could now use Kehrer in that left-back role. The German international is a right winger by trade but is comfortable on the opposite foot, not to mention the opposite wing.

“I can play both positions,” Kehrer said Kicker last year when he was asked if he preferred the role of a central midfielder or a full-back. “I am also flexible in terms of formation.

“I can operate on the right in the back four as well as on the right in a 3-4-3. But in the medium term, I think my strengths are better suited to play in central defense.”
