How did Hank die and who killed him in Breaking Bad?

*Warning: Spoilers ahead of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul*

Since the first season of Better Call Saul, the show has shown subtle references to the main show Breaking Bad, and as the prequel progressed and Jimmy completed his transformation into Saul Goodman, those references became increasingly clear.

This climaxes in the final episode of Better Call Saul where Jimmy McGill finally faces the consequences of his actions and his role in building Walter White’s criminal empire.

During negotiations over Saul’s deal, Mary Schrader is invited into the room to ask about the fate of her husband, Hank, and whether Saul played any role in his death during the events of Breaking Bad.

Better Call Saul marks the death of Hank Schrader

After he is arrested by police in Omaha, Nebraska, Saul Goodman engages in negotiations with the government’s attorney about a possible plea bargain in exchange for information.

During the negotiations, however, Saul asked if Marie Schrader would like to sit in the proceedings after seeing that she was present as she entered the room.

Mary keeps nothing after being called and does everything she can to pile guilt on Saul for his role in Hank’s death.

However, being Saul, he was able to portray himself as the victim by saying he was intimidated into working for Walter White – which eventually saw him be able to strike a deal that would only serve seven years in prison.

How did Hank Schrader die?

Hank Schrader died after being shot in episode 14 of the fifth season of Breaking Bad, titled Ozymandias.

The chain of events leading up to Hank’s death begins several episodes earlier when he finally puts the pieces together and concludes that Walter White was Heisenberg after finding a book signed by Jill Boettcher in the same handwriting as the notes found in Gus Fring’s Super Store. laboratory.

Hank then spent several episodes working with Jesse Pinkman and trying to put together a plan that would allow him to capture Walt and bring down his drug empire.

In Episode 13, Hank makes a photo of it as if Jesse has found Walt’s buried money, causing Walt to panic and take him to his hideout in the desert.

However, when Walt reaches the cache of money, he realizes he has been tricked and calls a gang of killers to help him while Hank, Steve Gomez and Jesse are on their way as well.

Episode 13 ends with a bloody shooting that saw Steve Gomez die while Hank survives, only to be killed in the early moments of Episode 14.

Who killed Hank Schrader in Breaking Bad?

Hank Schrader was killed by a man named Jack Welker.

Jack was played by Michael Brown, the leader of a criminal gang with ties to neo-Nazis and whites, hired by Walter White to kill Jesse Pinkman after learning that his former partner was helping Hank.

However, realizing that Hank will be in danger by the gang, Walt attempts to cancel the blow before the fateful confrontation in the desert.

But Walt’s efforts prove too little, with hindsight as both Steve Gomez and Hank are killed while Jesse is kidnapped and held by Jack’s nephew, Todd, played by Jesse Plemons.

In the final episode of Breaking Bad, Walt takes revenge on Jack by killing him and his entire gang before he is shot to death.
