according to Fabrizio RomanoAfter a summer of speculation, Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton has finally been offered for Diaz.

The Chilean has long been linked with a move this summer. After all, he enjoyed a breakout season in the Championship and is entering the final year of his contract at Lancashire.

Both Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with an interest in the Championship star, but according to Romano, the offer comes from Ligue 1 as Nice make a move for Brereton Diaz.

The French club have reportedly offered €10m (£8.5m) for the striker.

Nice certainly have an eye on the English market this summer, having already signed Kasper Schmeichel and Aaron Ramsey, while there is also reportedly a loan offer from the French outfit for Nicolas Pepe.

That would be a step up for Brereton Diaz. After all, he’s only played at Championship level and Nice are a Europa League side, but if any player is willing to throw himself in at the deep end, it’s the youngster.

Indeed, Brereton Diaz is no stranger to gambling with his career. At the age of 22, despite being born in Stoke-on-Trent, he decided to play for Chile and it’s fair to say his international decision worked out for the best.

He has been a star in South America over the past 12 months and his club form has improved dramatically since his international bow.

Brereton Diaz is certainly a player who likes to take a risk or two, and a move to Nice could appeal to him for that reason.

Leeds and Spurs could be interested, but given the striker’s love of a challenge, he may be more inclined to move to France if he leaves Blackburn this summer.
