The Iron Man video game was previously in Just Cause Studio

A video game based on Marvel superhero Iron Man was at one point in the works at Avalanche Studios, the developer best known for its work on the Just Cause series. While Iron Man has appeared in a few other Marvel titles over the years (marvel avengersAnd the Midnight from Marvel), the character did not have a modern game of his own that was not related to a movie or virtual reality experience. Sadly, we’ve had a game in this vein for nearly a decade, before work on it was finally scrapped.

In a recent discussion with MINMAXChristopher Sundberg, co-founder of Avalanche Studios, has opened the Iron Man game the company previously made. Sundberg stated that the game was in development for “a few years” before it was eventually canceled sometime near 2012. Much like Just Cause, this Iron Man game would have taken place in an open world and would have allowed players to freely fly around and use a number of From the abilities that Iron Man has at his disposal. In the end, Sundberg limited the game’s demise to nothing more than “company politics” and also made it clear that there were a number of budgeting and scheduling issues that would have hurt the studio in the long run.

You can watch the full conversation with Sundberg here:

While it’s disappointing to know that this Iron Man game from Avalanche never came out, there may be a new project linked to the character in development at the moment. Based on new rumors that have surfaced over the past month, EA is said to be likely creating a single-player Iron Man video game. Details about the title are still relatively unknown due to the early time it’s said to be in development, but if those rumors prove accurate, we could finally see Iron Man get a video game of their own at some point in the coming years.

What do you think of this canceled game Iron Man? Would you like to see this avalanche project come true? And do you think we’ll get a new video game dedicated to Iron Man in the future? Let me know for yourself either in the comments or connect with me on Twitter at Trustworthy.
